What's OnEvent
DescriptionThe Traditional Darkroom Printmakers Group is a special interest group of the Melbourne Camera Club. The group members are enthusiasts of traditional film and printing techniques and the group still enjoys a high attendance and we are highly diverse and enthusiastic group of members. The group holds monthly meetings which often include a practical demonstration, runs a beginners darkroom class for club members, holds workshops and excursions and provides a friendly atmosphere and advice for members who want to learn about traditional printmaking, film photography or how to use the club's darkroom. The Traditional Darkroom Printmakers Group of the Melbourne Camera club holds a yearly exhibition of member’s work of all ages and skill levels. Images entered must be from an analogue medium, typically film and printed by traditional techniques (often in the darkroom). This year is the exhibition’s tenth anniversary and the exhibition was held in the Melbourne Camera Club building in South Melbourne during August and opened by The Age journalist Terry Lane before coming to the Michaels Gallery for the month of November 2010.
