Now in its fifth year, The Gathering showcases photographs from a passionate group of photographers from across Australia dedicated to the use of large format (bellows) cameras.

Since forming in 2007, The Gathering has met each year at gold street studios in Trentham East nestled at the top of Victoria’s Great Dividing Range, the perfect backdrop for large format photographers to share their unique photographic passion.

The Gathering

4x5 & Beyond

The Gathering is unique: from all over Australia photographers dedicated to the use of large format cameras meet to share views, ideas and enjoy photographing in and around Trentham and Trentham East. Cameras used by the members are 4x5, 5x7 and 8x10 inches (e.g. an 8x10 camera uses single sheets of film 8 inches by 10 inches). All prints are contact prints from the negatives (meaning the print is the same size as the negative) and are processed and printed in gold street studios traditional wet darkroom.

Exhibition opens: Friday 6th May 5.30-7.30pm. Refreshments provided.
