Michaels Photographic Gallery proudly presents

Benizi Santamaria has spent the last 4 years travelling through the vastness of the Indonesian archipelago. During his travels he has endured its hardships as well as enjoyed its generosity of spirit. Santamaria hopes that through his images more can be learnt of this majestic country, beyond its popular tourist spots. ʻDocumentary” in theme with an “Artistic” twist, all images in this exhibition have been framed as you see them and are not cropped.

Outside his work in Community Services at a Local Government Council, Santamaria is a travel and documentary photographer with an emphasis on portraiture. “Portraits of Prayer, Work and Play” represents his second Public Exhibition, the first being “Old Faces in New Places,” shown at the Richmond and Collingwood Town Halls, Fitzroy Library and the Collingwood Neighbourhood Justice Centre in 2009, and at the Melbourne Town Hall for Seniors Week in 2010.
