In circumstances where your equipment is likely to be packed as luggage or be subjected to extreme conditions hard cases are available. These are most commonly made of tough plastic or aluminium with either dividers or foam inserts which can be tailored to your equipment. Waterproof models are also an option.

Accessibility and comfort are also a consideration. Consider whether you will be comfortable carrying your equipment simply over your shoulder or perhaps a waist pack would be more suitable. The style of bag will dictate the accessibility to your equipment and this in turn will be dependant on your anticipated circumstances.
